Charge: 

The Technology Steering Committee (TSC), on behalf of the Council of Presidents, is the primary advisory body to the Chancellor on matters related to technology. Through its deliberations, the TSC seeks to identify ways to leverage technology to enhance the academic and administrative services to CSU students, faculty and staff. The responsibilities of TSC include:

  1. Recommending technology strategic priorities and goals that are consistent with the strategic directions established by the Chancellor and Board of Trustees;

  2. Reviewing and recommending updates and changes to the Integrated Technology Strategy framework and the projects and initiatives therein, based on the system-wide strategic plan (i.e. Access to Excellence);

  3. Reviewing and recommending the major initiatives proposed by the Academic Council, CABO and ITAC;

  4. Staying abreast of emerging technologies through briefings and updates provided by AVC/CIO and other resources as appropriate.

  5. Reviewing budgets and recommending goals and timelines for major technology initiatives.

  6. Informing the Council of Presidents of TSC findings and seeking Council of Presidents support.

Membership / Term:

Up to ten Presidents appointed by the Chancellor or his/her designee.

    2013-2014 Membership:
    Drs. Garcia, Armstrong and Zingg Terms end June 30, 2014
    Drs. Harrison and Ochoa Terms end June 30, 2015
    Drs. Richmond, Haynes and Rush Terms end June 30, 2016

The TSC members serve a term of three years each; the term is staggered so that approximately one-third of the seats are up for appointment every two years. No member shall serve more than six years.

Schedule:

TSC meetings are held bi-monthly on the Tuesday morning prior to the Board of Trustees meeting.
